Iraq Embassy invites Indian companies to explore huge opportunities in Iraq through exhibitions

New Delhi, May 7 (KNN) Giving the Indian companies including the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) an opportunity to tap Iraqi market for business, the Iraq Government is organizing several conferences and exhibitions across the Iraqi province.

The Al-Alaridh company for conferences and exhibitions in collaboration with Iraqi state company for commercial exhibitions and services is organizing as many as 5 exhibitions for shopping in Iraqi province between June 1, 2019 to March 6, 2020.

Al-Alaridh is an integrated company for managing events and organizing conferences, exhibitions, business trips and various commercial agencies.

In this regard, the Commercial Attaché at the Embassy of Iraq has invited Indian companies to participate in these exhibitions.

The first exhibition Al Najaf Shopping Show (second session) will be held from June 1, 2019 to June 16, 2019. The Karbala Shopping Show will be held from July 20, 2019 to August 2, 2019.

Naenawa (Mosul) Shopping Show will he held from October 1-12, 2019; Al-Hila Shopping Show will be held from November 17 to 27, 2019; and Al-Najaf Shopping Show (third session) will be held from February 20, 2020 to March 6, 2020.

The bilateral trade between India and Iraq has exceeded USD 19 bn in 2017-2018 and Iraq has ranked 10th in the list of India’s trading partners. Before 2002, India was exporting USD 52.46 million worth of tea to Iraq, which constituted 73.35% of the overall tea import by Iraq from foreign countries, with Sri Lanka far behind, exporting USD 19.06 mn worth of tea with 26.64% market share.

India is exporting goods especially food products including rice, beans, Sugar and also another items such as steel, pipe lines electrical items, motors, Rickshaws, cycles, construction materials such as tiles, granites, sanitary ware. Among these, lot of items or their parts are produced or exported by the MSMEs. (KNN Bureau)
