Jaishankar’s Doha Visit Reinforces India–Qatar Economic And Strategic Engagement

New Delhi, Nov 17 (KNN) External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar visited Doha for a series of high-level engagements aimed at strengthening the India–Qatar strategic partnership, with discussions covering trade, energy cooperation and regional developments.

The Minister met Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

“Reviewed key aspects of our Strategic Partnership including energy, trade, investment and people to people connect. Appreciate the exchange of views on Middle East/West Asia, regional and global developments”, Jaishankar updated on X.
The minister also called on the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, where both sides discussed ways to deepen bilateral engagement and expand future cooperation.

The visit comes amid sustained high-level interaction between the two countries. In October, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal co-chaired the India–Qatar Joint Commission meeting in Doha and highlighted new opportunities for Qatari investments in India.

The government said the visit by Jaishankar will help advance bilateral engagement and support ongoing collaboration in energy security, economic partnership and regional stability.
