Mamata to visit Bangkok to attract investment for Bengal

Kolkata, Sep 13 (KNN) In order to attract the investment in Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will visit Bangkok at the global business conference scheduled to be held in November this year‎.

Business delegates and representatives of the ASEAN countries will be participating in the conference where Mamata Banerjee will be highlighting the investment potential of Bengal.

Expressing her satisfaction over discussions with industrialists during her Germany tour, she said that Bengal is the only and best destination for investment.

“There is enormous capacity in Bengal while other states have completely exhausted,” she said adding that Bengal is the route of trade for various countries including Singapore, Myanmar, Nepal and Bhutan.

“We are going to attend Bangkok Global Conference. They have invited me to speak on behalf of Bengal because they think the state to be the right destination for investment. They had travelled to Munich to invite me to attend the conference,” she said.

“During our visit to Germany we requested BMW and people from other industries to invest in Bengal. It was a very good gathering. Let us hope for the good. Germany is also sending their representatives for Bengal Global Business Summit,” she said.

The CM said that that she returned with investment of Rs 450 crore investments for the expansion of a solar power project and an order for supply of 25 lakh jute bags. (KNN Bureau)
