MSME Intl cooperation scheme revised; to cover tech- upgrade, JVs also

New Delhi, March 11 (KNN)  Ministry of MSME, the nodal Ministry for promotion and development of micro, small and medium enterprises has recently  announced the revised scheme for International Cooperation.
 
Now under the revised guidelines, deputation of MSME business delegations to other countries for exploring new areas of technology infusion/ upgradation, facilitating joint ventures, improving market of MSMEs products, foreign collaborations, etc. will also be eligible for support.
 
The significant modification in the scheme is to support  Technology infusion and/or upgradation of Indian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs),
 
Till now the activities covered under the Scheme included participation of MSMEs in trade fairs and buyer-seller meets in foreign countries as well as in India and holding of  international conferences and seminars on topics and themes of interest to the Indian MSMEs.
 
Besides the Ministry of MSME, events under the Scheme can be organised by State/Central Government Organisations;  Industry/Enterprise Associations; and
Registered Societies/Trusts and Organisations associated with promotion and development of MSME Sector.
 
Each delegation should generally comprise of at least 5 enterprises. Government will reimburse the cost of Air Tickets for the delegates. For participation in International exhibitions, besides the cost of Air Travel, Government also reimburses the cost of hiring stalls.
 
Support under the scheme is also available for organising International schemes in India where the number of foreign delegates is more than 50%. The details of the scheme are available at the website of Ministry of MSME.  (KNN/DB)
