NoC from narcotics dept required for import of certain Controlled Substances: DGFT

New Delhi, July 24 (KNN) Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has said that the import of 12 'controlled substances' such as potassium permanganate, butanone, Phenylacetone etc will require a no-objection certificate (NoC) from the narcotics department. 

"Import of (12) controlled substances shall be permitted subject to 'No Objection Certificate' from Narcotics Commissioner of India, Gwalior," Director General of Foreign Trade said in a notification. 

Earlier there was no such condition on the imports of these substances. (KNN Bureau)
