Piyush Goyal to Attend G20 Trade Meet in US, Advance India-Bilateral Talks

New Delhi, Sep 29 (KNN) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will visit the United States from September 29 to October 5 to participate in the G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 30 and October 1.

The meeting, hosted at the invitation of the US Trade Representative, will bring together trade ministers from G20 countries. India will push for a rules-based, open and non-discriminatory multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization (WTO) at its core, while seeking policy space for developing countries.

Goyal is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with G20 counterparts on the sidelines of the meeting to discuss trade opportunities for farmers, fishermen, women entrepreneurs, startups, MSMEs and other businesses.

During the visit, Goyal will hold discussions with his US counterpart on the ongoing India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA), including efforts to finalise an interim deal in line with the February 7, 2026 Joint Statement.

In Milwaukee and Chicago, Goyal will meet senior executives of US companies from manufacturing, consumer goods, agri-business, retail and technology sectors. 

He will also participate in discussions with businesses, startups and other companies on investment and manufacturing opportunities in India.
