New Delhi, May 23 (KNN) Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the electoral victory under his leadership.

In a letter to PM Modi, Chinese President noted the great importance he attached to the development of India-China relations and his desire to work with PM Modi to take a closer development partnership between the two countries to a new height.

President Xi, in the letter, also expressed satisfaction at the strong momentum of development in India-China relations in the recent years with the joint efforts of both sides, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a tweet.

In a letter, President of Sri Lanka Maithripala S has felicitated PM Modi on the electoral victory.

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has also written to PM Modi congratulating him on the victory at the General Elections and wishing prosperity & well-being to the people of India.

Russian President Putin has sent a congratulatory message to PM Modi and has confirmed his readiness to work together to build up the full range of bilateral relations and constructive interaction in international affairs, Ministry of External Affairs said in a tweet. (KNN Bureau)
