Rubber industry delegation to visit South Korea, Taiwan to encourage tie-ups and technical alliances

New Delhi, June 16 (KNN) With an objective to adopt modern technology and know about advanced machineries used by the rubber industries in Korea and Taiwan, a 12 member delegation from India would visit the two countries from June 20 to 25,  2016.

Talking to KNN, Deputy Secretary of All India Rubber Industries Association (AIRIA), Tej Bhatt said that 12 member delegation is going to Taiwan and South Korea. The main objective is to find out some technical alliances, form joint ventures, have import-export tie ups and purchase machinery from these countries which is used in the manufacturing of the rubber products.

The delegation will be led by AIRIA President Mohinder Gupta and would be supported by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

“There would be some exchange of technology in between the two countries. We will also focus on how they are manufacturing the products, what extra they have got than India in manufacturing and that we need to adopt in India", said deputy secretary.

“We don’t have upgraded technology as we are far behind in automation. We can’t compete in such environment. Our techniques of production are not advanced as compared to these countries,” he added.

He said that delegation is expected to visit factories there.  "Their machineries for testing equipment and what machineries we need for testing in India would be focussed in visit," he added.

Both India and Korea are among the world's largest producers of rubber and rubber products. The bilateral trade in rubber and rubber products between the two countries is comparatively small. (KNN Burea)
