Tata Steel Taps Australian Partner To Bring Modular Bridge Technology To India
New Delhi, Jul 8 (KNN) Tata Steel Ltd announced on Monday the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Australian company InQuik Group to introduce advanced modular bridge construction technology in the Indian market.
The partnership represents a strategic move to enhance India's infrastructure development capabilities through innovative construction methods.
The collaboration will integrate InQuik's prefabricated bridge systems with Tata Steel's established industrial expertise and manufacturing capabilities.
This alliance forms part of Tata Steel's broader strategy to expand its infrastructure portfolio by incorporating value-added construction products beyond traditional steel manufacturing.
According to company officials, the agreement positions Tata Steel to deliver comprehensive construction solutions addressing India's growing infrastructure requirements.
"Tata Steel focuses on delivering smart and sustainable construction solutions to fulfil the growing infrastructural needs of a modern India,” stated TV Narendran, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Tata Steel.
“This collaboration with InQuik reflects our technology-driven approach to reimagine construction practices in the country," he added.
The InQuik system utilises patented technology that enables rapid construction of reinforced concrete bridges through prefabricated steel moulds that are filled with concrete on-site.
Company representatives indicate this methodology provides a scalable and cost-effective approach for critical infrastructure projects, particularly in remote or challenging locations where traditional construction methods may prove difficult.
Logan Mullaney, CEO, InQuik Group, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership's potential. He stated, "We are excited to partner with Tata Steel, a global leader in steel manufacturing, to expand the reach of our bridge systems into the Indian market.”
This agreement represents a significant milestone in InQuik's international growth and reflects the confidence that leading companies like Tata Steel have in our technology," Mullaney said.
The initiative aligns with Tata Steel's strategic transformation toward becoming a technology-driven entity offering integrated construction solutions.
The company aims to leverage this partnership to strengthen its position in India's infrastructure sector while addressing the nation's substantial bridge construction requirements across diverse geographical conditions.
