Three Day India - Afghan cultural fest takes off in Delhi, handicraft expo on the chart
New Delhi, Nov 30 (KNN) Eyeing at strengthening the ties between the two countries, the India - Afghan Cultural festival started in the national capital yesterday with the the Afghan Minister of Information and Culture Mohammad Rasool Bawari and Indian Minister of State for Culture Mahesh Sharma inaugurating the event.
The three day event is to feature different elements that can be of interest to the two country including a dedicated section to traditional handicrafts.
The delegation during the course of the festival will explore potential cooperation in different sectors on cultural front.
During the inaugural event, Sharma said that India and Afghanistan share strong bonds right from the traditional periods of history.
Sharma further stated that the recently inaugurated festival is to prove instrumental to bring out the common interests between the two nations through different elements including handicrafts, art dance and music.
Also lectures, food stalls, cultural performance including dance and music are to be a feature during the three day event organized by the Government and Embassy of Afghanistan along with the Government of India and ICCR. (KNN/DA)
