Trump Warns US Tech Firms Against Outsourcing Jobs to China and India
New Delhi, Jul 24 (KNN) At the Washington AI Summit this Wednesday, US President Donald Trump launched a pointed rebuke against American tech giants, accusing them of engaging in “radical globalism” by manufacturing in China, recruiting staff from India, and shifting profits to Ireland.
He warned that such practices “left millions of Americans feeling distrustful and betrayed,” and declared: “Under President Trump, those days are over”.
Speaking directly to Silicon Valley and broader tech leadership, Trump emphasised the escalating competition in artificial intelligence, urging them to demonstrate “a new spirit of patriotism and national loyalty.”
He insisted that US tech firms commit fully to domestic interests. “We need US technology companies to be all in for America. We want you to put America first,” he said. “You have to do that. That’s all we ask”.
The President also took the opportunity to sign three executive orders aimed at strengthening America's role in AI.
These included a White House action plan outlining national strategy and measures designed to boost exports of comprehensive American AI technologies.
The thrust of these directives reflects a broader effort to fortify US leadership in advanced tech and halt the erosion of talent and industrial capacity abroad.
Trump reiterated that American tech companies have benefitted immensely from freedoms and markets at home—yet too often prioritised global gains.
By pledging to redirect production and talent hiring to the US, he positioned this shift as the cornerstone of his “America First” agenda.
