New Delhi, Nov 9 (KNN) Turkey's G20 presidency is planning to address issues related to low income developing countries (LIDCs) and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) as cross cutting themes to be taken up under G20 work stream. The priority areas include inclusiveness, implementation and investment for growth among others.

“As the 2015 G20 president, Turkey, aims to develop policies to better integrate disadvantaged groups such as women and youth into the economy, reduce inequality and promote integration of SMEs and LIDCs, into the global economy,” said a statement.

It said that because SMEs are such an important driver for employment creation, competitiveness and growth, there is need to focus on the problems of the sector.

Addressing SMEs governance bottlenecks, facilitating their access to finance and providing a more conductive regulatory environment that also takes into account the compliance burden on the sector are critical elements that are on the agenda.

The key objectives of the agenda for the global economy will be strengthening the global recovery and lifting potential; enhancing resilience and buttressing sustainability.
The European Union will also support the 2 per sent growth ambition outlined by the Brisbane Action Plan last year. (KNN Bureau)
