Why just ban Pakistani actors, ban import-export with Pakistan too: Abhay Deol to Govt

Mumbai, Oct 21 (KNN) This time the demand to ban trade relations with Pakistan has come from Bollywood. But this came in response to ban put on release to Karan Johar’s movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

The B-Town members have come out in full support of the release of the film.

Bollywood Actor Abhay Deol, who has played lead roles in films like Dev D, Happy Bhaag Jayegi and more, has said, “When you do half a job, no one is going to take you seriously.”

Speaking at the opening of the 18th Jio MAMI Film Festival, Deol questioned the ban on the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

He said, "If you want to ban anything to do with Pakistan, then go the distance. Don’t just ban the filmmakers, then ban imports, exports etc. When you do half a job, no one is going to take you seriously. I don’t take the government seriously."

Groups like Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena or MNS have threatened to vandalise cinemas and block the film, which stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

Following the Uri Attack in which 19 soldiers were killed, the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association, which represents a number of Hindi film industry employees, passed a motion banning Pakistani artistes until relations between Delhi and Islamabad improve.

Yesterday, Union Minister Babul Supriyo, a well-known playback singer along with the producers met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh urging him to ensure release of the film safely. (KNN Bureau)
