Accenture invites entries from Indian students for its Innovation Challenge

Bengaluru, Aug 1 (KNN) IT service major Accenture is conducting an Accenture Innovation Challenge for which it can invited applications from Indian students.

The programme aims to tap into innovation potential of graduate, under-graduate and post-graduate students in the country.

The applications have been invited under two categories “Innovate for Businesses” and “Innovate for the Society”. Applicants have to submit their entries by August 12.

“If you are a student in India aged 18 years and above, and pursuing a full-time undergraduate or post-graduate course, you are eligible to participate in the Accenture Innovation Challenge. You can participate as an individual or in teams of up to four members,” Accenture Innovation Challenge document says.

Accenture will set up a fast-track recruitment process for all eligible finalists. The company has hired finalists of this contest in the past two years.

Participants will have to demonstrate their technology skills and creativity by applying disruptive and emerging technology in areas such as advanced analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, crowdsourcing, digital ethics and cybersecurity, immersive reality, and internet of things in their entries.

Over the past several years, Accenture has been conducting annual innovation contests. These contests have been well received by students across the country, with more than 20,000 innovations pouring in on varied themes. Out of these great innovations, few innovations have been successfully taken to the market as well.

Submissions will undergo a screening process and the shortlisted participants will be invited to present their ideas to a jury panel consisting of industry professionals and experts at the final round in October, in Bengaluru.

Winners will be selected in six categories - Grand Prize winner, Theme winner – for Businesses, Theme winner – Innovate for the Society, Best all Women’s team, Jury’s choice, and Accenture employee’s choice. While each member of the Grand Prize-winning team will prizes worth Rs. 1.5 lakh; Rs. 75,000 worth prizes will be given to each member of the two themes.
