Haryana To Introduce New MSME Policy To Boost Exports, Ease Of Doing Business
Chandigarh, Jul 27 (KNN) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced that the state government will soon introduce a new MSME policy aimed at boosting exports, improving ease of doing business and strengthening support for micro, small and medium enterprises.
New MSME Policy Awaits Cabinet Approval
The proposed policy, currently awaiting cabinet approval, includes several measures to enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs and exporters.
Under the draft policy, the export freight subsidy support limit is proposed to be increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 30 lakh per unit annually.
Industries exporting more than 80 percent of their production will receive special recognition on the proposed Udaan Dwar Portal to facilitate connections with international buyers, reported PTI.
Insurance Cover and Faster Incentive Disbursal Proposed
The policy also proposes expanding the Mukhyamantri Vyapari Kshatipurti Yojana to offer affordable insurance coverage for small traders and MSMEs against losses arising from fire, theft and natural disasters. To improve ease of doing business, land feasibility certificates will be issued within 45 working days.
The government has also proposed releasing 50 percent of eligible incentives within seven working days after preliminary scrutiny, with the remaining amount to be disbursed within 45 days following detailed verification.
The chief minister said entrepreneurs would receive interest at the rate of 8 percent per annum if the Industries Department delays the release of eligible incentives.
Yamunanagar's Plywood Industry Showcased as Export Success
Interacting with representatives of the plywood industry in Yamunanagar, Saini said the government's objective is to position Haryana's industries on the global stage.
He noted that Yamunanagar has emerged as India's plywood capital and highlighted the sector's participation in the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair in Tanzania as an example of its expanding global presence.
Industrial Infrastructure, Land Reforms to Support Growth
To upgrade industrial infrastructure, the state has created the SAKSHAM fund with an initial allocation of Rs 500 crore in the 2026-27 Budget for the redevelopment of industrial areas, including Yamunanagar.
The government has also introduced a land-on-lease policy to make industrial land more affordable by offering long-term leases with an option to convert plots into freehold.
Additionally, work is underway to revive Jagadhri's metal industry through the development of a metal and general industrial park at Manakpur, where the revised layout includes more than 900 industrial plots of varying sizes.
