India-US Trade Facilitation Portal Records 3,500 Registrations, MSMEs To Benefit
New Delhi, Oct 27 (KNN) The India-US Trade Facilitation Portal has recorded around 3,500 registrations within a few months of its launch, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said, highlighting its potential to help Indian businesses, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and first-time exporters, access the US market.
In a post on X, Goyal said the digital platform was connecting businesses in India and the United States, creating opportunities for exporters to build partnerships, explore new markets and expand their global reach.
“Trust. Trade. Opportunities. This Trade Facilitation Portal is a landmark initiative seamlessly connecting businesses on both sides,” he said, describing the response to the platform as encouraging, reported ANI.
Portal Aims To Support MSMEs And First-Time Exporters
Goyal said the initiative would be particularly beneficial for smaller businesses and exporters seeking to establish international partnerships and explore opportunities in the US market.
“It will open up new opportunities for Indian businesses, particularly MSMEs & first-time exporters, to forge partnerships, explore new markets & expand their global reach,” he said.
The portal aims to broaden participation in India-US trade by providing businesses with a common digital platform to identify potential buyers, showcase products and establish cross-border commercial relationships.
Digital Platform Connects Indian Exporters With US Buyers
The business-to-business (B2B) marketplace was launched by the Consulate General of India in New York in collaboration with other Indian consulates in the US and the Embassy of India in Washington DC.
The platform enables Indian exporters to showcase their products and capabilities, while allowing US-based buyers to explore Indian offerings across sectors.
Its features include category-wise product listings, search facilities and personalised dashboards that allow users to monitor trade activity, track business leads, review sales performance and assess user engagement.
The portal also hosts virtual exhibitions and curated showcases to help businesses promote their products, connect with prospective partners and explore sector-specific opportunities.
Platform Seeks To Expand Cross-Border Trade Engagement
By bringing exporters and buyers together in a shared digital space, the portal seeks to simplify business discovery and facilitate commercial connections between the two countries.
The growing number of registrations signals increasing interest in the platform as a channel for trade engagement, particularly among businesses looking to enter the US market and develop international partnerships.
For MSMEs and first-time exporters, the initiative could provide an additional avenue to identify buyers and explore export opportunities beyond established business networks.
