MP Aims for District-Level Industrialization With 81 New MSME Parks

New Delhi, Jul 2 (KNN) The Madhya Pradesh government is planning to develop 81 new industrial areas across the state to create a larger land bank for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), with the aim of expanding industrial activity and generating local employment.

State Plans Industrial Areas Across Districts

The MSME Department has initiated the process of securing the transfer of government land in various districts for the proposed industrial estates. Of the 81 planned industrial areas, five have already been approved and development work is underway.

MSME Commissioner Dilip Kumar said the government plans to establish industrial areas in every Assembly constituency that currently lacks one, making industrial land available closer to local markets and resources to support the growth of small businesses across districts.

Initiative Aims to Address Land Constraints

Officials said the initiative is intended to address one of the key challenges faced by MSMEs, the availability of affordable industrial land with basic infrastructure, reported the Times Of India.

The proposed industrial areas will offer smaller plots along with essential facilities such as roads, power, water supply and drainage.

The department is coordinating with district administrations to identify suitable government land parcels. Development work will be undertaken based on the size, location and demand from local entrepreneurs once the land is transferred.

Wide Range of MSME Sectors Expected to Benefit

Industry representatives said the initiative is expected to benefit sectors including food processing, engineering, fabrication, packaging, furniture, agro-based industries, textiles, garments and other small manufacturing activities.

According to Kumar, the new industrial areas are expected to promote district-level industrialisation and create employment opportunities locally.

The department is also evaluating undeveloped land parcels that can be allotted in phases, while fully developed industrial estates will be prioritised in areas with stronger demand.
