AIPMA celebrates 70-year journey in plastics industry

New Delhi, Jan 21 (KNN)  All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA) will be celebrating seven decades of is journey in the plastics industry on February-8.  The celebration will take place during the forthcoming Plastindia 2015 exhibition scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad from February 5-10.

One of the fastest growing industries in India, the plastic industry has been making significant contribution to the economic development and growth of various key sectors such as automotive, agriculture, construction, electronics, healthcare, textiles and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) among others.

The domestic plastics industry comprises of several SMEs.

AIPMA has a mission to lead the Indian Plastics industry to process 20 kgs of plastic per head by 2020, leveraging knowledge and innovation for inclusive growth.

Established in 1945, the non-profit body serving the plastic industry is the largest apex body with offices in Mumbai and regional offices in Delhi and Chennai.

With more than 2500 members directly, AIPMA has 22000 members through its 27 affiliated associations from all over India, representing various segments of the industry such as plastic processors , additives manufacturers, machinery manufacturers, moulds and dies makers, traders, exporters, manufacturers, consultants, institutions and many more.

In its pursuit to achieve growth excellence, AIPMA organizes national as well as international trade shows, seminars, lecture meetings, conferences, buyer and seller meets, training programmes periodically and liaison between the government and the industry.

It also organises trade delegations to K exhibition - Germany, Koplas - Korea, NPE, USA, Taipeiplast - Taiwan, Asiamold - China, and trade meetings between its members and delegations from Chambers of Commerce, Trade Bodies, Associations, etc from various countries.

AIPMA has representations, at various Union and State Government Ministries to voice concerns and difficulties faced by the industry, budgetary structure recommendations, monitor uniformity in government regulations on plastics industry compared to other industries and be part and parcel with the parent ministry to chalk out strategies and policies for plastics industry.  (KNN/ES)
