Banks will have an important role in supporting MSEs by providing security free loans: Gujarat CM

Gandhinagar, Aug 25 (KNN) Talking about the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel shared that banks will have an important role in supporting micro and small entrepreneurs by providing security free loans between Rs 50,000 to Rs 10 lakh.
 
While addressing at the 146th State-level Bankers’ Committee meeting held at Swarnim Sankul last week, she also told the banks to get ready to support U-WIN Card for the multiple benefits to labourer of unorganized sector.
 
She also appealed to the banks to play key-role in entrepreneurship development among the skilled youth.
 
Addressing the SLBC meeting, CM Patel said that banking sector plays an important role in ensuring benefits of several welfare schemes initiated by State and Central government reach people on ground. She exhorted the public sector banks to adopt pro-people approach, simplify procedures for common man and thus cover maximum people under the ambit of welfare initiatives. For successful implementation of Gujarat Government schemes, she proposed a mechanism for officials and bankers to jointly monitor progress, analyze and solve issues.
 
CM Patel appealed to the top brass of public sector banks to handhold atleast one youth per branch – take complete responsibility, from higher education, employment training, as part of CSR.
 
She stated that the Government is looking for inclusive growth and to increase the economic condition of the needy and poor people, by various welfare schemes. She stated that banks deny loans for such government sponsored schemes, which hinders progress. She urged nationalised banks to be more active in sanctioning the loans to assist the poor beneficiaries.
 
Patel also talked about Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Suraksha Bima Yojana, PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and praised the efforts of the banks to make these schemes successful which will bring positive change in the lives of the poor.
 
Chief Secretary G S Aloria, Union Financial Services Secretary Hasmukh Adhia, Additional Chief Secretary J N Singh, Regional Director of Reserve Bank P C Sahoo, CMD of Dena Bank Ashwani Kumar and other senior officials remained present on this occasion. (KNN Bureau)
