New Delhi, Dec 19 (KNN) In an attempt to explore innovations in the Facility for Low Carbon Technology Deployment among the different sectors including the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) along with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) launched the ‘Innovation Challenge’ program.

The program is being conducted as part of the FLCTD, a five year project aiming at promoting innovation of low carbon technologies and its deployment in industrial and other allied sectors of the country.

The competitions targets to identify innovative low carbon technologies and solutions to improve efficient end-use of energy, which in turn will help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the long run.

The competition is to be carried out fewer than three themes including Waste Heat Recovery, Space Conditioning and Pumps.

The organizers have rolled out its first phase of the competition and are inviting applications for the challenge on Waste Heat Recovery for innovative product and technology.

The ideas that get shortlisted will receive guidance and mentoring support from industry experts to further develop business and also get marketing and patent registration assistance.

Also grants up to 50,000 dollars are to be disbursed to the ideas that make through to the final phase.

For the first leg of the competition under Waste Hear Recovery theme, the deadline for receiving the applications is set to 31^st January 2018.

BEE and UNIDO is implementing the program in association with CII. Also recently the organizers held a series of meetings across India to deliberate on the proceedings of the event inviting industry bodies including the Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME).
