Bhubaneswar, Mar 3 (KNN) The Odisha government has launched an e-Biz portal to reduce the timeline for getting approvals online, a move to promote ease of doing business in the state.

Talking to KNN the President of Orissa Industries Association, Jagatpur, Abni Kanugo said it is a good move and would bring more transparency in the approvals.

Kanugo acknowledged that the government has initiated infrastructure projects to give a boost to the industries.

He pointed that the government is making efforts to improve the business environment in the state which was earlier badly hit due to complex approval processes.

“Many investments came into the state but later on went out because of certain complexities,” Kanugo said adding that the same mistakes should not be repeated again.

The state government has reduced the timeline for registration of industries to one to three days, which was taking seven days earlier. Similarly, the time taken for land allotment would now be 30 days instead of 65 days earlier.

Presently, 14 major services like project evaluation, land allotment, shed allotment in industrial estate, approval of plan and issue of license under Factories Act, registration under Boilers Act, registration of establishments employing contract labour etc are being provided through the portal.
