Elections 2019: What women entrepreneurs want?

New Delhi, Mar 28 (KNN) With women excelling across sectors at the workplace, women entrepreneurs associations shared their expectations from the upcoming new government with KNN India.

The government schemes and the numerous women industry associations have been instrumental in ensuring incentives as well as the resources to help them enter into the world of entrepreneurship.

Here is their list of expectations:

Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) President from Telangana Chapter, Lalitha Aluri
Being a women entrepreneur I expect government to support us through different government portals.

It is difficult for women to travel long distances, so the government should build women industrial estates close to the cities.

Upcoming government should increase subsidies and incentives to women owned business and also should reduce income tax for them.

Government should also focus on building clusters for women and having skill and knowledge training centers at every industrial estate.

Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs, National President, Sandhya Reddy
In order to boost women entrepreneurship, the government should focus mainly on building of infrastructure for them.

Another major focus should be on marketing about various initiatives taken for benefiting women owned business.

Women entrepreneurs should be provided at least with 10% land in all industrial clusters, which will help them grow faster.

Also, at least 5% procurement should be there from women entrepreneurs in all public sector units.

Government should also popularize Credit Guarantee Funds for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGSTMSe) collateral free loan so that it can reach and benefit maximum number of women entrepreneurs.

Laghu Udyog Bharati, Secretary for Belgaum, Karnataka, Priya Puranik
The upcoming new government should make sure proper distribution of loans to the women entrepreneurs under Mudra loan.

Women entrepreneurs tend to face harassment from banks when approached for loans, so government should keep a check on them and insist bankers to pay loans to us properly as money plays a very important role in MSME sector.

Women at large are not aware about various schemes that government is providing for benefit of women entrepreneurs. So it will be great if officials from government hold campaigns and brief women about different schemes. (KNN/JM)
