FOSMI to organise awareness programme on ZED maturity assessment

Kolkata, Jun 15 (KNN) Federation of Small & Medium Industries (FOSMI) with Business Analyst Group jointly organising an awareness programme on Zero Defect and Zero Effect (ZED) maturity assessment model presented by Quality Council of India (QCI) on June 23, 2015 at the Science City Seminar Hall, Kolkata.

The awareness programme is aimed at giving a clear understanding on the ZED maturity assessment model, its rating parameters and the levels of accreditation.

ZED Maturity Assessment Model developed by QCI, has been conceived and structured to offer graded benchmark levels of an organization’s performance through a set of standard enablers and outcomes focused on quality and environmental performances in easily understood terms. It aims to rate and handhold one million micro, small and medium (MSMEs) to deliver top-quality products using clean technology.

The pilot project on ZED Maturity Assessment will provide MSMEs the opportunity for self-assessment of their organization and initial rating by QCI at free of cost in the pilot project.

Addressing the nation on the Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the Indian industries, especially MSMEs to manufacture goods in the country with zero defects and to ensure that the goods have zero effect on environment.

“Make in India” can only be a success if with the improvement of the competitiveness of the MSMEs.

International companies competing in global markets focus on their competitiveness strengths of market acceptable costs, technology, innovation, service delivery, lean manufacturing and defect free products for ZED. (KNN/ST)
