Govt appoints Central Prabhari Officers to work with states, district officials to strengthen ecosystem for MSMEs

New Delhi, Nov 1 (KNN) As the government is giving lot of impetus to promote country’s MSME sector, it has appointed Central Prabhari Officers to work in collaboration with the State Government Officials and the District Administration at the Ground level to strengthen ecosystem for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The issues identified and to be focused upon are - Ease and access to credit, Ease of cash flow, Access to Market, Coverage of Employees under social security benefits, Quality certification and Sectoral Ministry interventions.

The senior officers at JS/AS level have been appointed as Prabhari Officers. These Prabhari Officers will lead a team of Officers from Banks, EPFO, ECIS, SIDBI, DICs etc.

The Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet said that “the Prabhari Officers will lead a team of Officers from Banks, EPFO, ECIS, SIDBI, DICs etc. and work in close collaboration with the State Government Officials and the District Administration at the Ground level for coordinating the efforts in achieving 100% realisation of the target in respect of the following deliverables identified to promote MSMEs…”

In an office memorandum, the secretariat said that steps are also being taken to establish a comprehensive database and an efficient feedback mechanism.

It has directed the Department of Financial Services to take further necessary action in the matter. (KNN Bureau)
