Gujarat CM to discuss about collaboration in MSME sector with China

New Delhi, May 14 (KNN) Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel, who is a part of Narendra Modi’s delegation during his China visit, will discuss possibilities of collaboration in MSME sector along with other sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, textiles, skill development and more.
 
Patel is accompanied by over 25 prominent industrialists and a team of Government officials in this visit that will cover Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzen and Hong Kong. This is Patel’s maiden international trip after becoming the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
 
Patel, along with her delegation, will meet high profile Chinese Government officials, investors and trade associations, industry leaders in an effort to strengthen economic and cultural bilateral ties between Gujarat and China. 
 
Patel’s focus will be to foster collaboration in sectors of Manufacturing, Engineering, Textiles, MSMEs, Financial Services, Technology, Renewable Energy, Skill Development and Construction. Important projects of Gujarat, such as GIFT City, Dholera, Dahej, Gujarat as Auto and Ports Hub, Smart cities, Statue of Unity and DREAM City will also be showcased.
 
The focus in Beijing will be to develop bilateral government ties, in Guangzhou the focus will be on manufacturing, in Shenzhen it will be on financial services and in Hong Kong on investment, infrastructure and urban development.
 
Patel will attend a function hosted by Government of China on Friday at the Great Hall of People at Beijing.
 
Following the welcome ceremony for the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Patel and her delegation would participate in the States and Provincial Leaders’ Forum also being organised there.
 
The first session of the Forum would focus on ‘Role of States and Provinces in fostering Closer Developmental Partnership between India and China’.
 
Patel in her address to the Forum would be focusing on Gujarat’s achievements and the immense opportunities that it can offer for investors. She would also be promoting Gujarat as a key destination in the Buddhist tourism circuit and set the ground work for developing enhanced cultural links with China.
 
Immediately, after the conclusion of the first session of the States and Provincial Leaders’ Forum, the Gujarat Chief Minister and her entourage would be witness to the agreement signing ceremony between the Indian side and the Chinese side, along with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.
 
There would be a special session on “Sustainable Urbanization: Smart City, Smart Living” at the ‘States and Provincial Leaders’ Forum. This Forum is a platform for leaders from India and China to foster closer economic and cultural ties between the two nations. It may be recalled that Gujarat state has entered into MoU with Guangdong province in China, in September 2014. (KNN Bureau)
