India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant asks MSMEs to produce for world and not just domestic market

New Delhi, Feb 8 (KNN) For India to lead a global change, it is necessary that the MSME sector produces for the world and does not limit itself to the domestic market, said G20 Sherpa and former CEO of NITI Aayog, Amitabh Kant in an interview with ET Now.
He also pressed on the importance of sustainability for MSMEs as the world is going green.
“Therefore you need to ensure your products are sustainable and use cleaner and renewable energy and that will help you to penetrate global market as you go along,” Kant told ET Now as part of their Leaders of Tomorrow Season 11.
India assumed its G20 presidency on December 1, 2022 and has voiced its commitment to democracy and multi literalism.
Kant also said that the current GDP growth of 7 per cent needs to be accelerated up to 9-10 per cent every year.
The G20 Sherpa explained that India is going to urbanise rapidly and about 500 million people will be in middle class.
Moreover, he said that there are more women in India then men, 1078 women to every 1000 men, which is why products and services catering to middle class and women are the way forward.
He urged MSMEs in India to look into government schemes focused at them and asserted that there are no shortages of schemes that would cater to the sector. (KNN Bureau)
