State Government’s Order to give KIADB land on 99-year-lease basis will adversely affect the State’s MSME growth as the SSI sector, said Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) in a press release.
The number of GO (Government Order) Points is not conducive to the growth of SME sector. KASSIA strongly feels that all the points should be discussed with the representatives of the industrial associations, it added.
The implementation of the GO should be kept in abeyance and effective date of the implementation should be from the date of GO and not retrospective, said KASSIA President, Chidananda M Rajamane while reacting on the order.
“Land allotment should continue to be on the basis of 10-year-lease cum sale as earlier because land is the only asset that remains with the small entrepreneur and the only insurance against any adverse eventuality.” Rajamane said adding that the industries who have received letters with the communication of 10 years lease cum sale should get the same terms.
KASSIA has urged that the Government should consider allotment of KIADB land on 10-year-lease cum sale rather than 99-year-lease for the MSMEs up to 3 acres of land, or exempt the applicability of 99-year-lease to the SME sector. (KNN/SD)
