Manesar, Jun 28 (KNN) Members of Manesar Industries Welfare Association (MIWA) have submitted their representation to HSIIDC on how the unwarranted and unjust approach to enhancement in land cost would kill the already suffering industry in IMT Manesar.

Further, they felt that the department which was constituted to promote industry has started working against the industry and is damaging it, according to a media release.

Nearly, 35 entrepreneurs from Phase IV of IMT Manesar met Managing Director of HSIIDC and submitted a representation based on information they received through RTI replies from HSIIDC.

“They made it clear that industry in IMT Manesar is getting step motherly treatment in the hands of Haryana Government and HSIIDC,” it added.

General Secretary, MIWA, Manmohan Gaind said, “We are not land and property developers, and neither traders in real estate nor rich businessmen. We belong to MSME sector and we are here to run our factories and promote business. We are always short of finances to keep abreast of developments and to stay competitive in the international environment. We have set up industries using our lifetime savings and have no desire or intention to sell these, as some honourable gentlemen outside industry seem to unreasonably think.”

The area of phase IV of Manesar was developed at Rs 12 lakh per acre which includes land acquisition cost, construction of road, water supply, installation of STP and CETP while they sold the plots to industrialists at exorbitant rates starting at Rs 89 lakhs per acre to Rs 445 lakhs per acre, MIWA said.

“The same land has been sold to Maruti at Rs 19 lakh/acre. The negative approach to small industry is clearly evident in this. The HSIIDC has behaved in a similar manner in the case of Phase I also,” MIWA added in its release.

An Industrialist from IMT Manesar, Sandeep Kishore Jain, said,” Information we gathered through RTI makes it clear that they have already collected more than sufficient surplus funds from the hapless entrepreneurs to pay enhancement. Why are they trying to kill MSME Industry by putting more of the burden of enhancement on them again, especially when the economic growth of the country is at low ebb?”

As a result of such approach, manufacturing in the nation as a whole continues to stagnate at 14-15 per cent of GDP when it should be 25 per cent at least.  Here this is, to a great extent due to wrong policies, illegal accounting procedures and extortionary attitude of this State Public Sector Enterprise which is disrupting the goals of the nation,” Jain added.

Wrong practices of the HSIIDC are largely, directly, the cause of factories in Manesar lying idle and hundreds of thousands of potential and needy employees not getting work, the release said.

H P Singh, another industrialist said, “If HSIIDC does not have any surplus then why are they not sharing their account statements with us; it simply shows the malafide intentions of the authorities.” (KNN Bureau)
