He said this on Monday after attending the meetings with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Uttar Pradesh and All India Sports Goods Manufacturers Federation in Meerut.
He also tweeted that the Ministry is trying to remove the “inspector raj” and encourage the micro, small and medium enterprises in all ways.
While addressing the meet, Mishra spoke on various controversial issues including Land Bill, Sugarcane Crisis, Ram Mandir and more.
While speaking on the Land Bill, Mishra said that the amended bill clearly states that the government would acquire non-fertile land and pay four times the circle rate of the land, but the Opposition led by the Congress was simply making an issue out of it.
Taking a toll on the state government over the sugarcane crisis, the Minister said, "There is a procedure for everything. The money we give for farmers has to be routed through the state government, so the onus ultimately lies with the latter. What can we do if they do not discharge their duties?".
When asked about achievements of his ministry in the last one year, Mishra said, "Our focus has been on the ease of doing business. Now anyone who wishes to start his own unit can register online and all documents he submits at the local district industry centres will be self-certified. Officials at DIC will only certify the physical presence of the unit. So all middlemen and voluminous paper work have been wiped out from the process."
The minister said that 15 states had already adopted procedures laid down by the Centre and the rest would follow suit. Regarding sick units, banks now cannot simply declare a sick unit as a non-performing asset (NPA). "An action plan has been set up, in which a committee comprising representatives from banks, industry, state and the Centre will ponder over the reasons for a unit going sick and suggest corrective action," said the minister.
"Besides, 8 lakh youths have been trained under skill development programme of the government through the small incubation centres at the village level," said Mishra, speaking at length about the social security schemes and jan dhan yojana, flagship schemes recently launched for the poor.
He also discussed issues of sports good manufacturers in with Principal Director, Process cum Product Development Centre, Meerut.
Meanwhile, on the Ram Mandir issue, Mishra said, The demand for the Ram temple is of a permanent nature and we are pretty clear on that," he said, adding that while at the moment the government was focusing on its development agenda, it would not lose sight of the temple movement either.
