Mysore, Jan 27 (KNN)  Mysore Industries Association (MIA) which is unhappy over the slow implementation of industrial policy and lack of adequate infrastructure in industrial areas, has called for immediate action by the government.

“A number of small scale industries are becoming sick and some of them are on the verge of closure and this which will have adverse results while affecting the social and economic development of the State,” said General Secretary, Mysore Industries Association, Suresh Kumar Jain.

Addressing industrialists on the Republic Day Function jointly organised by Karnataka Industries Area Development Board (KIADB) and MIA, Jain has appealed to the government to take necessary action for industrial development.

Jain also drew attention to the agricultural sector which he said is far more important than the industrial sector. “Unfortunately farmers are losing interest in agriculture and farming activity.  They are selling their agricultural cultivable land and this will definitely affect the development of the nation,” he said.

In this regard, he asked the government and farmer leaders to take necessary action to motivate and encourage farmers to retain agriculture activity.

Also speaking on the occasion, Development Officer KIADB, D Biligirirangaswamy unfurled the national flag and explained in detail the life history of Dr. B R Ambedkar who was instrumental in the formation of the Constitution of India.

On the other hand, Special Land Acquisition Officer, H K Krishnamurthy spoke about the democratic republic Constitution of India.

Others at the event were, MIA Secretary N Satish, Treasurer Byregowda, R Puttaswamy, KASSIA Zonal Convenor Manjunath and KIADB Employees Union.  (KNN Bureau)
