National expo on MSME vendor development programme

Aligarh, Jan 4 (KNN)  In order to promote procurement of goods produced by small enterprises by the public sector units, the MSME Development Institute Agra in association with Laghu Udyog Bgarti, Brij Prat and National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC)  is organising a national vendor development programme cum industrial exhibition.

The three-day National Expo will be held from January 31 to February 2, 2014 at Bajaj compound in Aligarh.

It is an initiative to provide a platform to micro and small industries to demonstrate their products and services to the buyers from government departments, public sector, large industrial houses and private organisations.

The event will highlight interaction programme like seminar on Public Procurement Policy 2012, IPR, vendor-buyer meet, government purchase programmes and MSME scheme.

The exhibition will also facilitate the procuring departments in identifying and selecting the right vendors to meet their requirements. It will display products from various economy sections like financial institution, automobiles, computer, IT and telecom, footwear, furniture, handloom, electronic goods, food product, health equipment, educational institute, tourism, cosmetic and household appliances.

The event will provide the small enterprises an opportunity to join hands in promoting self-reliance and leading vendors to come forward by displaying their products and capabilities.

According to the public procurement policy, PSU have to procure a minimum of 20 per cent of annual value of goods and services from micro and small enterprises. (KNN/ST)
