NYKS to help rural youth in skill training for employment

New Delhi, Sept 11 (KNN) The Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), a government undertaking voluntary organisation will help generating awareness and motivation for rural youth to get skill training for employment.
Union Minister of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Youth Affairs and Sports Sarbananda Sonowal will lay the foundation stone of the Youth Training Centre and inaugurate the newly constructed office building of NYKS Delhi Zone on September-13, according to an official release.
NYKS will generate awareness and motivate about five lakh rural youth to get skill training for employment and self-employment ventures in their areas and will actively participate in enhancing the productivity of the country. It will also help filling up existing vacancies at different levels and implement cadre restructuring in a time bound manner.
The Centre will facilitate training programmes for its functionaries and youth on social and development issues, leadership, community development through participatory processes and youth empowerment. It will be a hub of youth activities in the future.
NYKS will also establish youth clubs and Mahila Mandals in every uncovered village of the country with membership of two crores.
The core strength of the organisation is a network of 2.74 lakh village level youth clubs in nearly all the districts of India with a membership of about 80 lakh youth in the age group of 13-35 years.
There is a trained volunteer force of about 12,000 National Youth Corps (NYCs) with whose assistance and participation, NYKS aims to achieve its objectives. (KNN/ST)
