DC-MSME comes up with new scheme to promote ICT in MSMEs

New Delhi, Aug 17 (KNN) The Office of Development Commissioner (MSME), Ministry of MSME is operating a new scheme called “Promotion of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) in MSME Sector”.

Under the scheme financial support in the form of subsidy of upto maximum Rs. 3 Lakhs would be given to MSMEs in three years on yearly basis.

The prime objective of the scheme is to motivate MSMEs to adopt ICT Tools and applications in their production and business processes mainly through Cloud Computing Services with a view to improve their competitiveness in National & International Market.

ICT Scheme is being implemented through a Specialized Institution called Telecommunication Consultants India Limited (TCIL), New Delhi.

Under the scheme, TCIL will empanel various Cloud Computing Service Providers (CCSPs) who will deliver the services to MSMEs in the areas of their interest.

In this regard, a meeting has been called by DC-MSME on August 24 with prominent Industrial Associations, representatives of Software Industries and other stakeholders.

Under the scheme, awareness programmes would be conducted to create awareness amongst the MSMEs about the benefits of implementation of ICT tools in their enterprises.

The small units will be encouraged to use cloud computing and a licensed platform would be provided for easy and economical Procurement propriety software by MSMEs. (KNN Bureau)
