Adani Group Expands Partnership With Kaleris To Drive AI-Led Digital Transformation Across Ports

New Delhi, Jun 16 (KNN) Adani Group flagship company Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) has expanded its strategic partnership with Kaleris to strengthen digital capabilities across its ports and logistics network as part of its long-term growth and technology strategy.

APSEZ Expands Digital Transformation Across Port Network

The multi-year agreement will see Kaleris deploy its terminal operating system and AI-enabled container handling and optimisation solutions across 15 APSEZ container terminals spanning nine domestic and international ports.

The initiative forms part of APSEZ's broader 2030 plans, which include an investment of USD 850 million towards decarbonisation, technology upgrades and achieving cargo handling capacity of one billion tonnes annually.

AI And Automation To Enhance Operational Efficiency

Building on the first phase of implementation across six ports, the expanded deployment will introduce advanced planning, optimisation and automation capabilities across APSEZ's network, creating a unified digital platform aimed at improving operational efficiency, consistency and end-to-end visibility.

According to the company, the deployment is expected to improve Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) crane productivity by up to 20 per cent and terminal truck productivity by up to 14 per cent.

Leadership Highlights Benefits Of AI-Driven Optimisation

Ashwani Gupta, Whole-time Director and Chief Executive Officer, APSEZ, said AI-enabled automation would play a key role in enhancing competitiveness in ports and logistics by improving productivity, reducing turnaround times and strengthening customer experience.

Kirk Knauff, President and CEO, Kaleris, said the expansion of the partnership reflects the outcomes achieved during the initial phase and will enable the benefits of AI-driven optimisation to be scaled across APSEZ's entire terminal network.

Advanced Technologies To Support 2030 Growth Targets

As cargo volumes increase and supply chains become more complex, APSEZ said it is investing in technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), computer vision and advanced optimisation tools to enable real-time visibility, better resource allocation and faster decision-making.

The expanded deployment of Kaleris' N4 Terminal Operating System is expected to improve yard utilisation, enhance planning accuracy, accelerate vessel turnaround and facilitate more predictable cargo movement as APSEZ works towards its target of handling one billion tonnes of cargo annually by 2030.
