New Delhi, 19 June (KNN) Ahead of the full budget to be presented before the country, the Finance Ministry has started a series of Quiz on Twitter for Twitter users.

On the first day, Ministry asked, ‘When was the First General Budget of Independent India presented?’

The Finance Ministry also gave four options for the same to vote.

Ministry said, “Now that our General Budget 2019-20 is around the corner, it would be a good time to refresh our knowledge about it. Today we start with our first question. Let's see how many of us get it right”.

On November 26, 1947, the first Budget of Independent India was presented, which was presented by then Finance Minister R K Shanmukham Chetty. On July 5 the Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman will present a full budget for 2019-20.

On the second day, Ministry asked, which is the most comprehensive report of the Government’s finances in which revenues from all sources and outlays for all activities are consolidated.

It also contains estimates of the Government’s accounts for next fiscal year called Budgeted estimates. (KNN/VS)
