New Delhi, Apr 4 (KNN) Hyundai India will start the export of Verna midsize sedan from India starting from June this year to move up the value chain to cater to buyers globally.

The South Korean automobile manufacturer has made a smart transition from small car exports to midsize vehicle exports from India.

After the success of two India-made SUVs, the Creta and Alcazar, the company is now planning to export the Verna midsize sedan globally from India, reported Auto Car India.

Hyundai has given sole manufacturing and export responsibility for the Verna sedan to India.

It plans to manufacture 1.2 lakh units of the recently launched sixth-generation Verna sedan in the coming year, of which almost 80,000 units or 66 per cent of its total volumes will be for the export market.

This means Verna’s export volumes will double in FY2024 from about 40,000 units in the previous year.

The Verna’s global responsibility will help Hyundai Motor India increase its export volumes by over 20 per cent in the following year.  (KNN Bureau)
