Indian auto sales overtake Japan to stand third globally
New Delhi, Jan 7 (KNN) Auto sales of India has surpassed Japan as per most industry figures and taken the third position globally.
According to early figures, India outsold Japan with at least 4.25 million new car sales, surpassing that country's 4.2 million sales, reported ET.
As per the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, 4.13 million new cars were delivered in India between January and November 2022.
The number rises to almost 4.25 million units when the sales figure for December.
Selling 26.27 million vehicles in 2021, China continued to lead the global auto market.
The U.S. remained second at 15.4 million vehicles, followed by Japan at 4.44 million units. (KNN Bureau)
