CEPC is in process of finalising virtual fairs to ensure business continuity

New Delhi, May 21 (KNN) In the preview of COVID-19 situation, Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) is in the process of finalising the virtual fairs as an alternative to the physical fairs for ensuring business continuity during corona pandemic.

In this context on May 20th, council convened an interactive meeting through video conferencing with members showing the first demo on how the members can display their products in the virtual exhibition.

Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman, CEPC in his opening remarks mentioned that in the present scenario of COVID-19 the biggest challenge is that overseas buyer will not be able to visit their suppliers and likewise we may not be in position to visit abroad to meet the buyers, therefore it is important to look for alternatives to the physical fairs and exhibitions which were being held till now.

Singh also mentioned that the only thing missing in Virtual Exhibition is the touch and feel of the product which is very important for ascertaining the

fineness and quality of the product but can be resolved by sending the sample before finalising the final order.

He requested all the members to understand the concept of virtual fairs and invited their suggestions which will help CEPC in taking care of the requirement of the industry while finalising the arrangements for virtual exhibition.

Sooraj Dhawan from M/s Falcon Pvt. Ltd gave the presentation where they show how they (members) can display their products in the virtual exhibition, uploading of the products, video and brochure is as easy as uploading the images on the Facebook by the youngsters in the present day.

After the presentation, the queries of the participants were duly replied by Sooraj Dhawan and also by Chairman and ED-Secy., CEPC.

All members appreciated and were satisfied from the presentations made till date and requested CEPC to move forward and inform them the further steps for their participation in the Virtual Exhibition.

Chairman, CEPC informed the participants and in view of the support of the members and in the best interest of the carpet industry, now the council will move forward in finalizing the technical aspects of the show with the agency and shortly will came out with all the details including the cost of participation for the Members.

Participants of the meeting appreciated the efforts of the Chairman, CEPC, COA Members and Council in the hour of crises which will not only save the industry but will be a mile stone in the growth of the industry.

More than 90 members participated in the meeting and Siddh Nath Singh, Chairman, CEPC welcomed the committee members and member-exporters for sparing their valuable time for the meeting.
