DGFT revises export policy of fertilizers with certain conditions

New Delhi, Jan 8 (KNN) The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has relaxed export policy norms for fertilizers including Urea, Potassium Chloride and other Straight Phosphatic fertilizers.

In a notification issued, DGFT said “Export policy of fertilizers have been revised and items under ‘Restricted’ category moved to ‘Free’ category subject to prior permission / No objection Certificate (NOC) to be obtained by the manufacturers / exporters from the Department of Fertilizers, and compliance of other laid down conditions.”

Fertilizers like Urea, other Straight Phosphatic fertilizers and other N.P. Complex fertilizers which were earlier under the restricted category has now been moved to free category as per the revised export policy, subject to certain conditions.

The DGFT has also laid down the procedure to obtain no objection certificate or permission for export of fertilizers.

It said that the application for exports should be accompanied with documents including detailed specification of fertilizer to be exported along with clear NPKS ratio, details of raw materials used for production of fertilizers and source of raw material used for production (whether indigenous source or imported).
