e-FAST India Launches PACT to Accelerate Zero-Emission Truck Deployment

New Delhi, Sep 8 (KNN) e-FAST India, a NITI Aayog-led initiative, has launched the Platform for Aggregating Clean Transport (PACT) to support the deployment of zero-emission trucks across India.

Rajiv Gauba, Member, NITI Aayog, launched PACT at the 5th e-FAST India Summit 2026 in the presence of V. Umashankar, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Dr. Hanif Qureshi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries,  Archana Mittal, Programme Director, Electric Mobility, NITI Aayog, and  Pawan Mulukutla, Executive Director, World Resources Institute.

PACT will aggregate freight demand from shippers, logistics service providers and other stakeholders and translate it into deployment opportunities across identified freight corridors.

It will bring together shippers, logistics service providers, vehicle manufacturers, financiers, charge point operators and other ecosystem partners.

The platform will support demand visibility, charging infrastructure planning and the commercial deployment of electric medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. E-freight vehicle deployments increased from 201 in FY25 to 826 in FY26, while more than 3,000 electric medium- and heavy-duty trucks are currently operating across India.

The summit also introduced the ZET Marketplace, an interactive platform connecting e-truck manufacturers, logistics service providers, charge point operators, financiers and technology companies.

It will enable participants to showcase products, explore commercial opportunities and develop partnerships.

The summit sessions discussed financing and de-risking mechanisms, charging infrastructure, policy priorities and lessons from early deployments.
