New Delhi, Feb 12 (KNN) India's electronics production increased six-fold to Rs 11.3 lakh crore in 2024-25 while exports jumped eight-fold to Rs 3.3 lakh crore during the same period as a result of various initiatives taken by the government, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada informed Parliament while replying to a question.

The Minister highlighted that mobile phone production has surged 28 times to Rs 5.5 lakh crore, with exports rising 127 times to Rs 2 lakh crore in 2024-25.

He noted that Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) is working to promote India’s exports of electronics hardware, components and computer software/IT services.

The Minister stated that the Government recognises electronics manufacturing and exports as critical drivers of economic growth and employment generation.

Highlighting the vision of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, the Minister said that the government has introduced several policy measures over the last 11 years to boost domestic production and exports of electronic goods.
