G20 infrastructure working group meet begins in Visakhapatnam today

Visakhapatnam, Mar 28 (KNN) The second G20 Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) meeting under India’s Presidency is all set to take place in Visakhapatnam on March 28 and 29, 2023.

The IGW meeting is being held under the theme ‘Economic Cities of Tomorrow’. The first G-20 IWG summit was held in Pune.

As per reports, around 63 representatives of G-20 countries and other invited organizations, ADB and World Bank are participating in the conference.

Joint Secretary Union Finance Department Solomon Arokhya Raj on Monday had informed that the delegates gave a lot of inputs related to infrastructure investments during the first meeting of IWG in Pune in January. The draft principles based on the deliberations in the first meetings have been shared with the participants.

“We will further refine them after the second meeting. The next two meetings will be conducted in June and October,” she said.

The two-day meet will deliberate on various aspects of infrastructure investments. The themes that will be covered include developing infrastructure as an asset class, promoting quality infrastructure investment, and identifying innovative instruments for mobilising financial resources for infrastructure investment.

Various official meetings and cultural programmes have been planned for the delegates.  (KNN Bureau)
