Good case for exports sector in union budget: FIEO (Watch Video)

New Delhi, Feb 2 (KNN) Responding to the Union Budget 2018-19 that was tabled in Lok Sabha yesterday, Federation of Indian Exports Organizations (FIEO) has welcomed the announced proposals.

Talking to KNN, Ajay Sahai, Director General and CEO of Federation of Indian Exports Organizations (FIEO) said that the budget is a balanced one and takes into consideration the expectations and demands from across sectors.

“The special focus on the agriculture in the budget is a positive sign and will help the country grow its exports”, Sahai said.

The budget very well recognizes the two major concerns that the country is facing at present: unemployment and shrinking return to farmers, he added.

Responding to the proposal of doubling the allocation on Interest equalization scheme  from 1100 crores to 2000 crores in this year’s budget, Sahai said that this is to help Indian exporters gain firm ground in the global market.

“Also the logistics sector is expecting some big time changes in the days to come with the finance minister hinting towards possible revisions and reductions in logistics costs”. (KNN/DA)
