Goyal Promotes Trade Portal To Enhance India-US Market Access

New Delhi, Apr 9 (KNN) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has called on exporters and businesses in India and the United States to actively utilise the newly launched India-US trade facilitation portal to enhance bilateral trade between the two countries.

Portal Aims To Boost Bilateral Trade And Market Access
Goyal urged industry bodies, export promotion councils, and chambers of commerce from both nations to integrate the portal into their business operations and use it as a platform to strengthen trade linkages, reported Press Trust of India.

He highlighted that India-US bilateral trade is steadily progressing towards the ambitious target of USD 500 billion set by both sides, and emphasised that the portal could serve as a key enabler in achieving this goal.

Platform To Support Exporters Across Sectors
Describing the platform as a ‘runway’ for domestic services exporters to access the US market, Goyal said it would create opportunities across sectors, benefiting a wide spectrum of stakeholders, from farmers and jewellers to software professionals and pharmaceutical companies.

The portal was formally launched by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri during his three-day visit to the United States.

Strengthening India-US Economic Cooperation
The virtual launch event was attended by India’s Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra, along with officials and trade representatives from both countries.

The initiative is aimed at simplifying trade processes, improving access to market information, and fostering closer economic cooperation between India and the US.
