Kia India Collaborates with ASDC to Boost Youth Automotive Skills
New Delhi, Aug 12 (KNN) Kia India has partnered with the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) to strengthen India’s automotive talent pool and bridge the gap between industry and academia.
The collaboration aims to create a robust skilling system that aligns with the changing needs of the mobility sector, particularly in areas such as electric vehicle adoption and enhanced customer experience.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Kia India and ASDC will work together to develop a sustainable training ecosystem and improve placement opportunities for aspiring professionals.
The initiative focuses on preparing the workforce to meet evolving industry demands while empowering youth with relevant technical and soft skills.
A key feature of this programme is an intensive 30-day training schedule. The first 15 days will be held at ASDC-certified centres, where participants will learn automotive basics, dealership operations, and Kia-specific procedures.
The following 15 days will involve supervised on-the-job training at authorised Kia dealerships, allowing candidates to gain practical, hands-on experience.
Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer of Kia India, stated that the partnership with ASDC reflects the company’s commitment to building a future-ready ecosystem.
He highlighted that skilled human capital is essential not only for supporting Kia’s growth but also for delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Upon completion, candidates will be assessed at ASDC centres. Successful participants will receive a joint certification from Kia India and ASDC, enabling them to be recruited directly for sales and service roles across Kia’s dealership network.
This initiative is expected to boost youth employment, enhance dealership capabilities, and contribute to the broader national skilling mission.
