Min of Commerce seeks feedback on draft National Rubber policy

New Delhi, Feb 22 (KNN) The Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Department of Commerce has invited feedback and suggestions from the stakeholders on draft National Rubber policy so as to provide the final shape to the policy.

The Ministry released the draft National Rubber Policy which envisages a well-developed value-chain of environmentally sustainable and globally competitive rubber industry, comprising natural and other forms of rubber and products thereof and ancillary sectors, capable of supplying materials and products of international standards to domestic and world markets, with focus on welfare of the entire stakeholder community and national economic progress.

The draft says adequate planting subsidy would be given for incentivizing rubber plantation. Priority would be given to marginal and small growers belonging to the resource poor communities.

Rubber based integrated farming systems would be deve1oped taking into consideration location specific factors. Efforts would be made for better networking and collaborations between the various line departments of the state and the central government to make rubber plantation successful in the non-traditional areas, it added.
