MSME Minister Giriraj Singh bats for ‘Mahakhadi” model to boost sales of Khadi

New Delhi, Feb 8 (KNN) In a bit to boost the sales of Khadi in the country, MSME Minister Giriraj Singh said that the Mahakhadi model existing in Pune should be taken forward and implemented across the country.

Mahakhadi model on one hands helps facilitate funds for the sector and also the Shoppie presents various handmade articles produced by village artists. These articles are sold under the brand name Mahakhadi.

Singh said that the government is keen to promote Khadi in the country and eyes this option as a good medium for job creation.

The Mahakhadi model of the Maharashtra State Khadi & Village Industries Board has linked Khadi & Village Industry beautifully and has put forth a unique model. Other states can learn from it and work on a similar kind of a model, Singh said.
