New Aadhaar Mobile App Marks Shift To Consent-Driven Digital Authentication
New Delhi, Feb 14 (KNN) With the launch of the new Aadhaar mobile application, India is witnessing a significant shift in identity verification practices across sectors, transitioning from traditional document-based checks to instant, consent-based digital authentication systems.
Developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the new Aadhaar app removes the requirement for physical document copies and lessens dependence on OTP-based sharing. It introduces a secure, app-driven authentication system built on dynamic QR verification and consent-based data sharing.
Technology firm Prudent Technologies has played a key role in enabling enterprise-scale integration for the rollout, supporting secure connectivity between the Aadhaar app ecosystem and service provider verification systems nationwide.
The upgraded Aadhaar app enhances privacy and efficiency with app-based digital presentation, dynamic QR authentication and offline verification. It enables attribute-based data sharing, along with biometric lock controls, secure SIM binding and mobile number updates.
The shift requires enterprises across telecom, BFSI, fintech, hospitality, healthcare and government services to adopt robust integration frameworks capable of handling large transaction volumes while remaining compliant with evolving UIDAI protocols.
Bjas Murthy, CEO, Prudent Technologies, said the transition represents a move toward a consent-first, privacy-by-design framework. He noted that building secure, resilient integration infrastructure is critical to supporting high transaction volumes without compromising privacy or performance.
Prudent Technologies enabled seamless integration between the Aadhaar app and enterprise verification systems through secure, API-driven frameworks. Its work included supporting both real-time and offline verification flows to ensure enterprise-grade performance across diverse use cases.
Implications For Enterprises
The move to consent-based authentication is expected to reshape onboarding, data protection and compliance. For enterprises, it will cut document and verification costs, lower cybersecurity risks, speed up onboarding and enhance customer trust through controlled data sharing.
Industry observers note that as global regulatory standards increasingly emphasise data minimisation and privacy, India’s updated Aadhaar ecosystem reinforces its position as a scalable digital public infrastructure model.
Digital Enablement Track Record
Prudent Technologies has previously supported large-scale digital initiatives, including early WhatsApp Business Voice Calling deployments in India and international markets, as well as India’s first Google Wallet-based metro ticketing implementation for Kochi Metro.
The company focuses on secure API ecosystems, authentication infrastructure and scalable digital platforms for enterprises and public institutions.
Prudent Technologies operates as a global technology partner specialising in secure digital platforms, Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) solutions, API integrations and authentication systems, supporting enterprises and public institutions in large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
