Noida, Jul 9 (KNN) Noida's industrialists have sought land for micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) and a common facility centre in Noida and Greater Noida.

The Noida Entrepreneurs' Association (NEA) led by president Vipin Malhan met Sudhir Garg, principal secretary, Uttar Pradesh micro, small and medium enterprises and export, along with L Venkateshwarlu, UP commissioner and director of industries, and R K Yadav, deputy commissioner, Udyog Kendra, Gautam Budh Nagar.

According to a media report, NEA proposed the allotment of a 500-1,000-sqm plot for micro and small enterprises and a common facility centre in Noida and Greater Noida where toy, plastic, readymade garments, corrugated boxes and packing material clusters can be stored.

Malhan said that the industry body also demanded power at subsidised rates and ban on groundwater extraction.

NEA also demanded annual relief in consent and renewal for non-polluting industries from the UP pollution control board and waiver of entry tax on raw material of paper and iron industries.

They also urged parity in vat taxes with neighbouring states for on-par production outputs. Industries in Noida pay more taxes compared to other states. As a result, their products are priced higher to cover the margins and hence sales become challenging, said Malhan.

Garg assured the NEA that he would present all its suggestions to state chief minister Akhilesh Yadav. (KNN Bureau)
