Maharashtra govt gives nod to Rs 20,000 cr pulp paper manufacturing project in Raigad

Raigad, Oct 21 (KNN) A pulp paper manufacturing project in Raigad worth Rs 20,000 crore has been approved by the Maharashtra state cabinet committee for industries on Thursday.

Overall the state government has approved projects worth Rs 25,000 crore.

The agreement of the pulp paper manufacturing project was signed during the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

It is reported that the Cinnar Mas Pulp and Paper Pvt. Ltd. (Asia Paper and Pulp) is the largest paper manufacturing industry in Asia.

This will be its first investment of Rs 20,000 crore in India.

About 300 acres of land has already been allotted for this project at Dherand in Raigad district and as per the demand of the project the government intends to provide more land.

The government has also announced that Gencrest Bio Products Private Ltd group will be setting up Rs 650 crore worth industrial unit to manufacture various products out of banana waste at Khadki Kinhi (Bhusawal) in Jalgaon district.  (KNN Bureau)
